Given recent events, we wanted to take a moment to update you on some changes we are making to keep everyone in our community safe and healthy.
As always, the health and safety of the families we serve, our team, and our community are paramount at WRRC. We have been monitoring the events surrounding Covid19, consulting local, national, and international public health and government officials, and responding as needed. We do not wish to spread misinformation or cause panic, however, as community members, we believe it’s everyone’s responsibility to take evidence-based precautionary and preventative measures.
- Effective immediately, access to our Community Cupboard/Foodbank will be closed. Those who are still in need of food can still come, and staff will meet them at the door with resources.
- We are no longer taking in-kind or food donations. Monetary donations via the internet are still welcome.
- All community service appointments with women (including counselling) will be held via video conferencing or phone
*Please note* our crisis services (24/7 shelter and phone line) will still be available. We have taken extra precautionary and screening measures as per our Pandemic Preparedness Policy.
If you are experiencing flu-like systems, we suggest calling Telehealth Ontario:

If you are in need of mental health support, consider calling CMHA’s mental health line: 1-866-933-2023
Will continue to monitor this dynamic and fluid situation, and will update as needed. Thank you to everyone for your patience and understanding.
