The open house will invite the entire Middlesex Community through the doors, and offer tours and information about what the shelter does on a daily basis. “People know us as an emergency shelter,” says Business Development Manager Cara Campbell. “But really, we’re much more.”
WRRC has expanded it’s programming in recent years, to include family and children’s counselling, advocacy work, and food security. The latter will be a theme at this year’s event. WRRC has run an “Unstoppable” Community Garden for the last three years, helping to fill the shelves of it’s Community Cupboard with fresh, healthy produce.
